Primary, Secondary & Standby Reactors – Gulf Chemical

Project Overview

This project involved the design and fabrication of a three-unit reaction system—including primary, secondary, and standby reactors—for Qingdao Gulf Chemical, supporting their continuous fine chemical synthesis line. The vessels were engineered to facilitate multi-step reactions such as oxidation, alkylation, or condensation, with precise process control, safety interlocks, and system redundancy.

Each vessel measures 6.6 meters in diameter and 13.41 meters in height, with a total unit weight of 135 tons. Constructed from Q345R pressure vessel-grade steel with an internal cladding of S31603 (316L stainless steel equivalent), the reactors are designed to withstand corrosive media, cyclic pressure loads, and long-duration thermal exposure while maintaining product purity.
