Primary Shift Converter – Xingxing Lantian Technology

Project Overview

This 169-ton secondary shift converter was manufactured for Yichang Xingxing Lantian Technology as part of a two-stage water-gas shift process in their coal-to-hydrogen facility. Following the primary shift reactor, this vessel performs further catalytic conversion of residual CO into CO₂, thereby maximizing hydrogen (H₂) yield before purification and downstream use.

With a diameter of 3.2 meters and a total length of 14.57 meters, the converter is fabricated from 15CrMoR, a high-performance alloy steel known for its excellent high-temperature and pressure resistance, especially in hydrogen-rich atmospheres. The vessel is designed to ensure thermal stability, extended life under cyclic operation, and safe, efficient gas-phase reactions.
